Clinical Supervision

Supervision for Provisionally Licensed Counselors in North Carolina & Colorado

Supervision that takes the work AND you seriously.

You chose this field because the impact we make matters. I believe supervision should be more than just a box to be checked off. It should be a space that challenges your thinking, deepens your clinical confidence, and helps you develop a professional identity that is authentically yours.

I am currently accepting LCMHCA supervisees in North Carolina and LPC Candidates in Colorado for virtual clinical supervision. Options available for group and individual supervision.

Why work with me?

I take ethics seriously, perhaps more than most (as I've been told). My supervision is built on the pillars below that I believe are essential for any clinician:

Multicultural Competence & Anti-Oppressive Practice: we don’t just "discuss diversity", we examine how identity, power, and culture show up in the room, in the therapeutic relationship, and in your own clinical lens.

Neuroscience-Informed Insight: I pull from the biopsychosocial model to help you understand the why behind your clients' symptoms, so your interventions are grounded in how the nervous system actually functions.

Person-Centered Development: We build from where you are, focusing on your existing strengths to cultivate your unique clinical voice.

Offering Trauma-informed, Multiculturally Competent Supervision For LCMHCA’s in NC and LPCC’s in Colorado

Focus Areas

I am a strong fit for supervisees who work with marginalized communities and are interested in integrating person-centered care with neuroscience. My areas of focus include:

  • Trauma-Informed Care

  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, & AuDHD)

  • Stress management and Nervous System Regulation

  • Racial/Cultural Identity Development

  • College Students & Emerging Adults

  • Substance Use & Dual Diagnosis

  • Ethical Decision-Making & Documentation Support

My Supervision Style

I view supervision as collaborative. It is a space where both you and your client have a distinct voice that gets to be heard, and where trust is the foundation for everything we do.

Supervision is introspective and vulnerable. I prioritize building a relationship where you feel safe bringing your "mistakes" and doubts into the room. We move through hurdles with transparency, because when you feel safe, your clients are better served.

While I hold the roles of teacher and gatekeeper, I lead with humility. I recognize the power dynamic in our sessions, but I also know I have much to learn from you. We work together to refine your unique clinical lens.

Having worked extensively with marginalized and comorbid populations, I know there is no "ideal client." I teach supervisees to discard judgment, master multicultural competence, and meet every individual exactly where they are, not where we expect them to be.

I also offer:

  • Virtual Only: Accessible to supervisees across NC and CO regardless of your physical location.

  • Flexible Scheduling: Evening slots are available to accommodate busy caseloads.

  • Flexible Rates: I offer sliding scale rates to support provisionally licensed counselors based on their needs.

Is This a Good Fit for You?

Supervision with Dr. Mary is designed for you if:

  • You are an LCMHCA (NC) or LPCC (CO) working toward full licensure.

  • You serve BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ populations.

  • You want a supervisor who integrates cultural humility into your clinical identity.

  • You want to learn how to integrate self-care into your own life to support your clinical work.

  • You are ready to explore how your own identity and values impact your clinical work.

  • You value high ethical standards and want a supervisor who does, too.

  • You want to understand how systems and oppression impact mental health.
